Conversion disclaimer
Updated November 1, 2026
These tools help with everyday file tasks. File formats contain different features, so a converted copy may differ from the original even when the conversion finishes successfully.
Quality and format trade-offs
- Lossy image or audio encoding can discard detail. Converting to a lossless format cannot restore information already removed.
- Transparency, animation, multiple pages, fonts, layers and metadata may be flattened, omitted or changed depending on the tool.
- Extracted PDF text and tables may have an imperfect reading order. Scanned pages require OCR where that feature is supported.
- OCR can misread characters, and spreadsheet conversions may change how values, formulas or dates are represented.
- RAW photos and specialist formats can vary by camera model, codec or source application.
A useful habit: keep a copy
Keep the original, open the downloaded result in the application you intend to use, and check important details. For a critical document or dataset, compare the relevant content rather than relying only on a filename or successful download.
No universal compatibility promise
Support depends on the file, its features and your browser. A tool may reject damaged, encrypted, protected, very large or unsupported files. The tools are not a substitute for specialist software or professional advice when the consequences of an error matter.
See each tool's limitations and the file format guides. If a result appears wrong, report the tool name and error without sending private file contents.
