About AAC to MP3

AAC and MP3 use different lossy encoders. Use this conversion when MP3 is required by the destination, and listen to the output before replacing a recording.

Common questions

Can AAC become MP3 without re-encoding?

No. AAC audio must be decoded and encoded with an MP3 encoder. The process can change quality and does not preserve the original AAC bitstream.

Are audio tags and every track preserved?

No. The converter processes the first audio track and removes metadata. Keep the original for artwork, tags, extra tracks or other information the output does not retain.

Does AAC to MP3 upload my selected file?

No. The selected file is processed in your browser rather than uploaded to a conversion server. The page may download processing software or models, and ordinary website connection requests still occur.

Why can the first use take longer?

The browser may first download a processing engine. Speed depends on your browser, available memory and the file's complexity. Keep this tab open until the result is ready.
